In the current era of globalization, the industry of retail has become extremely complicated due to a number of changes taking place at a speed that is accelerating with the passage of time. Shift in demographic conditions, downsizing of the household, consumers being more educated and conscious, new formats in channels, in addition to the other trends, needs the organizations in the industry to make quick adjustments and modifications in the current models, processes and approaches for the satisfaction of their needs (Rohwedder 2006). This is considered extremely important in order to be profitable and successful. The industry of retail will end up becoming an industry realizing that there is a need for redesigning the ways in which the selected customers are being satisfied and to expand the customers being targeted in a significant manner (Hau 2001). This will ultimately help in winning the customers and fostering greater loyalty amongst customers.
With acceleration in the speed of transformation and change taking place in the present era, it has been assumed that there will be a number of new prospects in the future of the marketplace in industry of retail. As a matter of fact, it is important to conclude that the converging anticipated factors will result in forming an absolutely new environment for retail industries (White 2007).
Hence, it is evident that changes have to be made in retail organizations in order to be successful in the changing environment of the industry. With respect to these changes, considering an existing retail organization, this report will be considering two aspects for the analysis of change and specific recommendations will be provided accordingly (Marsh 2009). Further ahead, the importance of these aspects for retail organizations will be discussed. However, firstly a brief overview will be provided for the existing retail organization chosen in terms of the Michaelmas. The organization chosen for the purpose of this report is Tesco Plc.
