Due to this buyer-supplier power, the organization of Walmart is able to obtain the competitive edge as it can offer the same products available elsewhere at a lower cost on a regular basis. Furthermore, the extent to which the buyer-supplier power is important can be realized from the exchange outcomes since the strategic suppliers of Walmart functions on the inventory system that is linked with the system of Walmart (Wang et al., 2014). This technological link informs the suppliers about the products that are sold by the organization in real time due to which the supplier can arrange the products that will be required in the near future. This is performed on the basis of the reducing availability of items and replenish the inventory just in time when more customers need the same product. It is to consider that without the strong and close ties of the buyer and supplier, this will not be possible since the buyer would be required to determine the products that are reducing in inventory and then they will need to place the order. However, this latency and gap in the supply chain process at times poses delay in meeting the needs of the customers.
