Though there are various differences between leadership and management the exhibit many similarities as well. Both leaders and managers may motivate the team. Also, both of them may take new initiatives for the success of the organizations. While leadership is the task in which they create their own policies and position in the organization, managers are the one who achieves his authority because of his or her position in the organization. Management is reactive leadership is pro-active. Though with respect to the organization, leadership and management has a symbolic relationship with one another for leading the business in a successful manner and also to do the management of the work within it.Leadership and management are two different roles. Both leader and manager holds equal importance for the organizations (Hoff & K.S, 1999). It is said that the best leader is the one who allows other people to manage and the best managers are the one who understand the vision of their leader and works along with the teams in order to produce the best results and achieve the goal. Thus, it is important that the organization has an ideal combination of the managers and leaders.
If a task is required to be completed through a process, it is done by the manager while if a task is to be created, it is the job of the leader. It is important that the business should have the people who are equally skilled in different works in order to assure success.Leadership and management are two different entities. Integration of a leader and a manager is not advisable as it may inhibit both of them for thinking about their own perspective (Hunt et al, 2013). While there may be many things which a leader can’t perform, a manager may do the same quite well. There are tasks which can be efficiently performed by the leader. Thus, even if the leader and manager are combined in the initial phase of organization, in order to earn a long term success, leaders and managers can’t be interrelated with one another. While managers can certainly lead and the leaders can certainly management, the skills which are required by both of them are needed to be good while they are distinct.
