Organisations have realized that laptop market cannot exist in exclusivity. That is why it has become important for the business organisations to either consolidate its core business, or to diversify its business with new range of products. For example, Apple is one of the premium brands in computing and mobility devices. Apple’s MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro, are three variants of its laptop segment (Polo et al, 2014). However laptop segment doesn’t forms the core portfolio of Apples overall product line. It has tablets, mobiles, and music players as well. Point to be understood is that Apple has not been completely dependent on its laptop business alone (Fletcher, 2011).
