Taking up the point of the amber a little further, it has been claimed in the film that the amber was found in the Dominican mine. Scientifically, the Dominican amber mines are aged at Oligocene and Miocene epochs. It was later than 65 million years ago that these epochs took place, somewhat around 38 to 5 million years ago. This means that when the specific amber was formed, the dinosaurs were most likely not even around. It is only from the Jurassic, Triassic and Cretaceuos periods that the remains of the dinosaurs could have been found, from 251 to 65 million years in the past. The truly terrifying velociraptors are another source of focus to be observed in the movie. The nickname given to this specific class of dinosaurs in the movie is raptors, a name which is now regarded to as the while dinosaur family and not just only the veociraptor as we could see in the movie. The name raptor in the science before the movie is identified as the birds of prey. But now, it is not just only identified as the velociraptors but also other kinds of dinosaurs, such as saurornitholestes, deinonychus and dromaeosaurus.
There is not even close relationship amongst a few of the dinosaurs; however some of the people tend to believe that they are related because of the use of the term raptor. There have been a few books since the release of the movie Jurassic park which have also taken into practice the usage of the term raptors when reference is made to velociraptors. It is scientifically incorrect to do the same. Other than the usage of the term raptors, the movie has also portrayed a dinosaur called deinonychus more than anything else. To be precise, it has been said that it looked like a deinonychus but with a head of an odd shape. The review above just only includes a few mistakes which have been researched with the aspect concerning the science behind the Jurassic Park directed by Spielberg. But, it is true to say that there are many more inaccuracies which the general public doesn’t seem to care about or doesn’t notice. The movie with amazing special effects is a great spectacle for the audience; after all it just a movie which is based on a fictional novel.
